McG Strikes Again
Yes, I'm obsessed with McG's evil genius. This much is well known.
So it was little surprise that I saw during the credits of The O.C. last night that McG is an Excutive Producer.
It all makes sense now. The show is a addictive and guilty little pleasure that goes down as light and easy as a music video (with absolutely not one scintilla of an aftertaste). Damn you McG, you're toying with the rest of us mortals again.
Even more useless info department: McG's real name is Joseph McGinty Nichol. This will probably ruin the illusion for most people, personally I know I was disappointed to find out that his birth name was not actually McG. Still the same, even the nom du film/guerre/etc is brilliant in its overt simplicity. “What is the most obvious nickname I could come up with for myself that packs that video director street cred I'm looking for? McG, duh!“
McG would be into XP, he is master of the simplest thing that could possibly work (provided there are explosions, shiny objects galore and a good soundtrack surrounding that simple thing). To say the man rarely overcomplicates is an understatement.
